热烈祝贺我所Eric Ameca教授当选IUCN气候变化专家组指导委员会成员

During 13-18 January 2020, Prof. Eric I. Ameca participated in an IUCN-SSC Climate Change Specialist Group meeting held in Yorkshire Wildlife Park, UK. The aim of the meeting was to report on progress and challenges, establish a resarch workplan for the next quadrennium, and plan the development of Red List training materials pertaining to climate change risk assessment.
During the meeting Eric presented the latest research of his team incluing a framework for assessing vulnerability to climate extremes for a subset of mammals at high risk of extinction in Mexico (published in Animal Conservation), a global assessment of primate vulnerability to cyclones and droughts (published in Nature Climate Change), and his views on recent field research on the role of climate extremes in shaping behavioural adaptations (Commentary published in Nature Ecology and Evolution).
During the meeting Eric was acknowledged for his engagement and significant contributions in the study of ecological and conservation implications of climate extremes on species and joined as the twelve Steering Commiittee member of the Climate Change Specialist Group, led by the Chair Wendy Foden. Eric now co-leads the "Impacts of Climate Change" theme ( http://ccsg-iucn.com/participants/eric-ameca/) of the specialist group with Dr. James Pearce-Higgins Director of Science of British Trust for Ornithology.
The IUCN-SSC CCSG's mission is to support and strengthen nature conservation in a changing climate. Link to the group http://ccsg-iucn.com/
