Job advert: Lab manager for research group
Job description. We are looking for a lab manager for the research group of Professor Eric I. Ameca at the Key Lab for Biodiversity Science and Ecological Engineering, Beijing Normal University, to manage the daily group activities such as: financial management of projects liaising with relevant university units, translation of academic documents English-Chinese and vice-versa, travel arrangements of lab members and visitors, scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and note-taking in meetings.
The role will be funded for one year in the first instance (starting date November 2019) and renewable upon satisfactory performance. The ideal applicant will have experience in providing secretarial support plus event planning and management, and having the ability to relate to a wide variety of people including administrative staff, researchers and students.
Eligibility. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Bachelor's or Master degree.
· Chinese nationality, age below 27-year old, good command in English and with experience in translating documents from Chinese to English and vice-versa.
· Excellent organization, multi-tasking and time management.
· Experience in an administrative support role within a university setting is desirable.
· Candidates with a biology-related degree are also encouraged to apply (experience in secretarial/administrative support is also desirable).
· Selected applicants will be considered for interview which will be in English.
· The successful applicant will be subject to one-month probation period (paid) before signing the contract.
Benefits. The successful applicant after the probation period will receive the following offer:
· Contract length of 12 months which will be renewable upon mutual agreement.
· Gross salary of 8,000.00 RMB per month (before taxation, including social insurance).
